  1. Application Completion and Submission

    If you have any questions, we invite you to contact Kaunas IN. After completing the application, the investor must submit it for administrative evaluation to the Kaunas City Municipality by email at info@kaunas.lt.

  2. Administrative Compliance Evaluation of the Application

    Employees of the Kaunas City Municipality administration check whether the application meets all the requirements. Please note that all other documents indicated in the application must also be submitted.
  3. Application Compliance Evaluation

    When evaluating the investment project application, the level of innovativeness is determined, as well as the final establishment fee.
    A qualitative assessment of the investment project is carried out, granting permission to establish operations and determining the establishment fee. It is set based on the company’s level of innovativeness, planned investments, number of newly created jobs, number of newly created researcher positions, and compliance with specialization areas.
  4. Additional Compliance Evaluation

    This stage is included when the land area the investor wishes to lease exceeds 1.62 ha. If the desired area is smaller or if the investor wishes to invest in the Innovation Hangar, this stage is not required.
  5. Contract Preparation

    Preparation of the contract by legal specialists and final arrangements based on needs.
  6. Contract Signing

    The contract is signed by the Director of the Kaunas City Municipality Administration and the investor(s).

The 30-hectare ALEX Kaunas Innovation Park has 16 plots, 12 of which are intended for the activities of innovative companies. The remaining areas include the Innovation Hangar and plots with accompanying functions: catering establishments/restaurants, a multi-storey car park designed for a kindergarten. The Innovation Park provides opportunities for investors who are ready to develop their infrastructure (buildings).

A network of 8 local streets with sidewalks and bicycle paths has been built in the territory, engineering networks for rainwater drainage and street lighting have been installed.

The Innovation Park has an electricity input and the possibility of connecting to a central heating system.

Costs & documents

According to the expected development intensity and nature of the activity, the territory of the ALEX Innovation Park is divided into 16 plots, 12 of which are intended for investor activities, each of which has a corresponding value per acre.

The settlement fee is calculated using a certain formula. It can be reduced depending on the intended results – the sum of investment, the number of jobs, the potential of the planned investment.

The rent rates for premises in “Innovation hangar” are from 7.5 to 8.63 EUR per square metre (without VAT) – the final price depends on the assessment of the application submitted by the investor and the points received.
