What is the rental price for the Innovation Hangar?
The price ranges from 7.5 € (excluding VAT) up to 8.63 € (excluding VAT).
What affects the rental price?
The price depends on how many points the business receives in the evaluation of the application. You receive points for: the company’s planned investment in the territory of ALEX; the number of new long-term jobs the business plans to create; the number of researcher jobs the business plans to create; the level of innovativeness of the business; the business compliance with the intended directions of ALEX specialisations.
Does the number of employees already employed count in the evaluation criteria?
You receive evaluation points only for the newly created jobs. The number of existing employees is not evaluated.
Can two companies apply to ALEX Kaunas Innovation Park by co-locating?
Yes, if the companies assume the obligations jointly. There are two options:
- Sublease agreement.
- Joint activity certificate.
How long does the process take from application submission to signing?
The process of investing in Innovation Hangar spaces:
- The process from submitting an application to signing a contract for renting an Innovation Hangar could be – < 45 – 50 days.
Investor application submission -> applicant assessment -> qualitative assessment of the application -> conclusion of a contract by lawyers -> conclusion of a contract.
The process of investing in a green field:
- The process from submitting an application to signing a contract for green field investments could be – < 55 – 60 days.
Investor application submission -> applicant assessment -> qualitative assessment of the application -> conclusion of a contract by lawyers -> conclusion of a contract.
What happens to land leases after 49 years?
The contract is concluded for 49 years, during which time the investor builds structures that are his property, leases the land and carries out activities. Upon the expiration of the term specified in the contract, the investor, as the owner of the structures, acquires the right to redeem the land plot in accordance with the currently valid legal acts.
What is the composition of the expert commission?
The ALEX expert commission consists of:
- two representatives delegated by the Kaunas City Municipality Administration;
- two representatives delegated by the Public Institution “Kaunas IN”;
- a delegated representative of Kaunas University of Technology;
- a delegated representative of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences;
- a delegated representative of Vytautas Magnus University.
The ALEX expert commission is chaired by a delegated representative of the Municipality Administration.
What is the composition of the supervisory committee?
The ALEX Supervisory Committee consists of:
- Three representatives delegated by the Kaunas City Municipality Administration;
- One representative delegated by the Public Institution “Kaunas IN”;
- One representative delegated by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania;
- One representative delegated by the Public Institution “Invest in Lithuania”.
A representative delegated by the Municipal Administration shall be appointed as the Chairman of the ALEX Supervisory Committee.
